Over the course of my career I have worked on a multitude of residential projects, from the tiniest bathroom to huge estates. In some cases the client retained me to develop the conceptual footprint for a new build - and only after we had collaborated in the design process would we then seek an architect that we felt would respect the fundamental design direction already established.
This page contains one or two such homes...... in the first, my client stated, at the outset, 'In the early morning I want the rising sun to penetrate from the rear of the house all the way through to the centre hall and the front entry'. That was a challenge. But the result was a spectacular success. We were less concerned about the street side architecture than the ongoing experiential transaction provided by - living in the space Wouldn't you agree that is a very important consideration?
